Summer Training at Nile Univ

The Bioinformatics group of Nile University invites applicants to join summer training in the area of high performance computing, bioinformatics, and web-development. Stduednts will be exposed to recent research problems and development of novel algorithms. The candidates will be embedded within the development teams and will interact with Egyptian and foriegn profesionals from US and Europe who collaborate with the group in these areas.

There are two basic areas for training:

1. Web Applications and Data Management

The requirements are as follows:

-2nd,3rd, or 4th year student from Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Development of web applications using Java, Python, or PHP technologies.
- Knowleage of Javascript and jQuery is a plus
- Familiarity with MySQL Database Server.
- Knowleage of Linux enviroment.
Students attend this training will

- get used to collabortive software engineering methodologies, including documentation,
reporting, issue tracking, and testing,
- acquire knowledge in XML and its related technologies, and
- ability to solve hard problems and difficulties in software development.
2. Algorithms design and development

The requirements are as follows:

- 3rd, or 4th year student from Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in C/C++
- Knowledge about Data Structure and Algorithms.
- Ability to learn new techniques and algorithms.
- knowledge of parallel computing is a plus.
